Sunday, September 29: Greater Rochester Choral Consortium Prism Concert *FREE ADMISSION*
ROF will perform the beautiful chorus Regina Coeli from our fall production, Cavalleria Rusticanna, by Mascagni at this more-or-less annual concert of 20 or more choral groups in the Rochester area. A nice “sampler” of the choral music available in the area, the concert is free, at 4 PM in the Eastman Theatre.

Sunday, October 27: Master Class with Steven Daigle
ROF’s Master Class Series continues with Steven Daigle, Co-Director of Eastman Opera Theatre, at 6:30 PM at First Baptist Church of Rochester. This class will focus on acting, staging, and portraying a character in a musical or operatic performance. The class is free and open to the public.

Friday & Saturday, November 22 & 23: Cavalleria Rusticanna by Pietro Mascagni
Following the tremendous success of our first full production with The Mikado in June, ROF will perform a full production of Mascagni’s grim one-act story of illicit love and revenge, Cavalleria Rusticana, “Rustic Chivalry,” The performance will take place at 8 PM at the River Road Auditorium of the University of Rochester (formerly St. Agnes High School.) Directed by Jack Langerak and conducted by Guest Artistic Director Gerard Floriano, this production in Italian expands the capabilities of ROF even further. True to the mission to help more people understand and appreciate opera, ROF will present a full act of enlightenment, explanation, and enhancement on the characters, story, and musical themes, prior to a second act performance of the complete opera with costumes, sets, orchestra, and supertitles. A show for opera lovers as well as those new to opera to learn and enjoy! Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, student prices are $5 in advance, $7 at the door.

An Evening of Elegant Opera featuring local professional musicians. A benefit for Rochester Opera Factory, details are TBA. Keep watching this space for more information!

ROF’s Master Class Series continues with a guest artist from the Rochester area at 6:30 PM at First Baptist Church of Rochester.

Friday & Saturday, May 16 & 17: “Making a Scene”
Continuing ROF’s plan to help more people understand and appreciate opera, ROF will present progressive scenes from the operas L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti (Setting the Stage,) Gianni Schicchi by Puccini (Involving the Players,) L’italiana in Algeri by Rossini (The Plot Thickens,) Un ballo in maschera by Verdi (The Good Death,) and Guillaume Tell by Rossini (Wrapping up the Details.) In this invention of Guest Artistic Director/Conductor and local composer Cary Ratcliff, the musical form of opera is exposed in a unique and creative way. This is a performance not to be missed!
